(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson College men's soccer team came out on top of a hard fought battle in a key Centennial Conference match on Wednesday, posting a 1-0 victory over visiting Muhlenberg.
Junior Sung Woo Kim (Seoul, Korea/Fryeburg Academy) finished from the top of the penalty area on a great cross from sophomore Derek Kachadurian (Weston, Mass./Weston) in the 66th minute to put the Devils on the board.
The game was back-and-forth with each team creating some quality chances on both ends of the field. The Devils finished with a 23-12 edge in corners, holding an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks on the afternoon.
First-year Reed Milbrath (Dickerson, Md./Sandy Springs Friends) earned the start in goal, making nine saves to record the shutout. The Devils have recorded six shutouts on the season, including three straight in conference play.
Jas Chojnowski made 11 saves in the nets for Muhlenberg as they slip to 9-5-1 overall and 5-3 in the Centennial Conference.
The Red Devils improve to 9-4-3 overall and 6-2 in the conference, clinching a berth in the Centennial Conference playoffs. They travel to Franklin & Marshall for the regular season finale on Saturday. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
