(Collegeville, Pa.) – Coming off one of the biggest wins in program history, the Dickinson field hockey team had another tough test in front of them on Saturday, traveling to Ursinus College. The host Bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the opening 22 minutes en route to a 7-1 victory.

Megan Keenan put Ursinus on the board with a shot from the top of the circle, 14 minutes into the game.

Danielle Stong tallied back-to-back goals to stretch the lead to 3-0. She finished a cross from Samantha Macchio with 18:12 remaining. Stong struck again at the 12:45 mark, redirecting an assist from Juli Pilla.

The Red Devils answered just 33 seconds later as Alex Boorse (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) found the back of the cage off a blocked shot from Tanya Bellingham (Alexandria, Va./Annadale).

Junior goaltender Katy Schlechtweg (Mount Laurel, N.J./Moorestown Friends) made four saves in the first half as the Bears held a 10-3 shot advantage and a 6-0 edge in corners.

The Bears tacked on another, scoring seven minutes after the break. Keenan was on target with another long-range shot as Pilla tallied her second assist of the game.

Keenan would net a hat-trick, converting a penalty stroke with 18 minutes, and tacked on her fourth goal of the day, scoring off a penalty corner.

Ursinus kept the pressure on as Stong scored her third of the day, with an assist from Devin Brakel with 5:13 remaining in the game.

Schlechtweg finished with 10 saves as the Bears outshot the Devils, 23-6, and held a 13-3 advantage in penalty corners.

Danielle Despirito made one stop as Ursinus improves to 8-7 overall and 5-4 in the Centennial Conference. The Red Devils slip to 7-9 and 2-7 in the CC.

Dickinson travels to Juniata College on Wednesday for a 3:30 pm start.
