(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's soccer team closed out the regular season with a 3-0 win over Franklin & Marshall at Miller Field on Saturday. The Red Devils scored once in the first half and tacked on two more after the break to improve to 12-3-2 overall.
The Red Devils finish second in the standings (7-1-1) and will travel to Swarthmore College for the 2012 Centennial Conference semifinals. Swarhmore defeated Haverford to make the 'Fords the number three seed.
Senior Shepherd Waldenberger (Madison, Va./Madison) put the Devils on the board in the 31st minute, finishing a pass from junior Javier Mena (San Salvador, El Salvador/The American School).
Mena gave the Devils a 2-0 lead, scoring off an assist from classmate Derek Kachadurian (Weston, Mass./Weston) with 33:49 remaining in the game. Kachadurian tallied another assist in the 84th minute, serving a ball to senior Nicolas Tierno (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber Creek Regional) to close out the scoring.
Senior Cody Hickok (Redding, Conn./Joel Barlow) made four saves before classmate Christian Hall (Baltimore, Md./Gilman) came on to continue the shutout.
TJ White made three saves in goal for the Diplomats as the Red Devils held a slim, 12-10 shot advantage.
The Red Devils will face Haverford College in one semifinal next weekend at Swarthmore.
