(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's soccer team struck late in the first half and early in the second to post a 2-0 win over visiting McDaniel College on Thursday night.

Junior Javier Mena (San Salvador, El Salvador/The American School) put the Red Devils on the board with just 1:47 remaining in the opening half. He fed a great ball to the cover for classmate Sung Woo Kim (Seoul, South Korea/Fryeburg Academy, Maine) who served a beautiful cross back to Mena. He ripped a shot in the right corner for a 1-0 lead.

The Devils added an insurance goal in the 57^th minute on another nice build up from the midfield. Mena flicked an amazing pass ahead to junior Derek Kachadurian (Weston, Mass./Weston), who had just the goalkeeper in his way. That would not be enough as Kachadurian had too much goal to work with, slipping the ball into the net.

The Red Devils had possession for virtually the entire first half. The Green Terror was content taking a defensive posture, holding the Devils to just three shots in the opening 45 minutes. After the break, McDaniel came out and played some of their best minutes of the match.

The Green Terror had some opportunities early in the second half, but the Red Devils regained the momentum and started to shift into attack mode once again. Dickinson received strong play all over the field and from a number of different players.

Senior Cody Hickok (Redding, Conn./Joel Barlow) turned in a solid performance in the Dickinson nets, making four saves while anchoring the Red Devil defense as they record their fourth shutout of the season.

Zach Nibblelink played well in goal for McDaniel. He stopped five shots as the Green Terror slips to 4-5 overall and 1-2 in the Centennial Conference.

The Red Devils improve to 7-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the Conference. They travel to Gettysburg College Saturday for a 7:00 kick-off with the Bullets.
