(Lancaster, Pa.) – The #17-ranked Dickinson men's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision at Franklin & Marshall on Saturday afternoon.
The Diplomats took a 2-0 lead in the first half, scoring twice in a span of just over two minutes. Devon Malfitano put F&M on the board in the 27th minute as he redirected a header from Chase TenBrook.
Ben Beaver converted a penalty kick, stretching the Diplomat lead to, 2-0, with 15:48 remaining in the first half.
TenBrook scored off a rebounded save in the 64th minute, assisted by Sam Lane. Beaver tallied his second of the match, beating the defense in the 73rd minute for the final of 4-0.
The match was even, statistically, with Dickinson outshooting the hosts, 9-8. F&M held a slim and negligible, 2-1, edge in corners.
Taylor Skelly made five saves to earn the shutout for Franklin & Marshall (11-3-2, 4-3-1).
Junior Reed Milbrath (Dickerson, Md./Sandy Springs Friends) made three saves for Dickinson. The Red Devils slip to 11-4-1 overall and 4-3-1 in the Centennial Conference.
The Red Devils return home to face Washington College next Saturday. Opening kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
