(Bryn Mawr, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's lacrosse team blanked Bryn Mawr, 22-0, in its Centennial Conference opener on Saturday.
The Red Devils struck, just 29 seconds into the game and didn't look back, scoring a goal in each minute to take an 8-0 lead with 22:17 remaining in the first half.
The Red Devils would put up 15 goals in the first half as nine different players found the net. Dickinson tallied seven more after the break and finished with 14 players recording a goal or an assist.
Junior Lauren Jonas (Reisterstown, Md./McDonogh) led the way in scoring with three goals and two assists. Senior Kara Glazer (Towson, Md./Towson) dished out four assists while Clare Manoli (Hudson, Ohio/Case Western Reserve) tallied a hat-trick as well with three goals and one assist. Catie Ledwick (Weston, Conn./Weston) added two goals and three assists as well.
Ali Dawson (Carle Place, N.Y./Carle Place) controlled five draws while sophomore Megan Taylor (Kensington, Md./Academy of the Holy Cross) picked-up five ground balls and caused three turnovers.
All three goaltenders shared the shutout on Saturday. JoJo Auerbach (Chevy Chase, Md./Bullis School) played the second half, making a pair of saves. Grace Morelli (Manhasset, N.Y./Manhasset) earned the start and Amanda Morse (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) came on to make a great save in the first half.
Grace Baeien-King made nine saves for Bryn Mawr as the Owls slip to 2-4 and 0-2 in the Centennial Conference.
The Red Devils improved to 5-3 and 1-0 in the CC. They travel to Ursinus College next Saturday for a 1:00 pm start.
