(Winchester, Va.) – The Dickinson field hockey team posted another win on Tuesday night, recording a 3-0 shutout at Shenandoah University.
The Red Devils turned in a dominant performance, outshooting the Hornets, 24-5, and holding a 15-1 advantage in penalty corners.
Sophomore Alyssa Stillwell (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) struck first again, as she did on Saturday, scoring off an assist from first-year Maddie Groves (Acton, Mass./Lawrence Academy) in the 23rd minute.
First-year Merritt Davis (Baltimore, Md./Garrison Forest) stretched the lead to, 2-0, scoring with 4:37 remaining in the first half with an assist from classmate Kendal Packo (Timonium, Md./Notre Dame Prep).
Davis added an assist on the night, finding Caroline Karwel (Fairfax Station, Va./South County Secondary) in the 64th minute, for the final of 3-0.
Senior Katy Schlechtweg (Mount Laurel, N.J./Moorestown Friends) made three saves to earn the shutout. Sarah Clare stopped 14 shots in the nets for Shenandoah.
The Red Devils improve to 5-2 on the year. They return to Biddle Field for Homecoming, hosting Muhlenberg College on Saturday at 11:00 am.
