(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson field hockey team started homecoming weekend on a high note, posting a 2-0 win over visiting Muhlenberg, on Saturday.
The Red Devils struck early, scoring just eight minutes into the game. Sophomore Alyssa Stillwell (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) put the ball in the cage, scoring off an assist from senior Lauren Wyman (Akron, Ohio/Western Reserve Academy).
First-year Catherine Perlmutter (Blue Bell, Pa./Germantown Academy) tallied an insurance goal, finding the net, just 2:06 into the second half.
The Red Devils continued to control the flow of play with strong play in the midfield. Senior goaltender Katy Schlechtweg (Mount Laurel, N.J./Moorestown Friends) turned in an outstanding performance as well, making a spectacular save in the second half, laying-out across the goalmouth.
She finished with six saves on the afternoon to post her third shutout of the season.
The Red Devils held a 23-11 edge in shots while the Mules had a 10-9 advantage in penalty corners.
The Red Devils improve to 6-2 on the season and remain unbeaten in the Centennial Conference with a 3-0 mark.
Sierra Lenker made five saves in goal for Muhlenberg as they fall to 2-6 and 1-2 in the CC. Junior Allie Califano came up big with a huge defensive save for the Mules.
