(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swim team posted a big, 179-82 win over the visiting University of Scranton on Saturday.
Swimming an extended program, the Red Devils had some strong performances, going 1-2-3 in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 back events.
Sophomore Mitch Reynolds (Frederick, Md./Frederick) won both distance events, touching the wall first in the 1000 (10:34.37) and the 500 free style events (5:03.53).
First-year Ben Shapiro (Wynnewood, Pa./Friends Central) had another strong outing in his strong start. He won the 100 and 200 backstroke, and the 200 individual medley. He also swam the lead leg of the winning 200 medley relay.
Classmate Kiernan Jordan (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) claimed the 100 and 200 butterfly events, won the medley relay and anchored the second place free relay. Junior Sam Eaton (Port Matilda, Pa./State College) captured the 100 and 200 breaststroke, joined the winning medley relay and joined Jordan on the free relay.
Junior Alex Bennett (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) placed well in the freestyle events, winning the 100, and placing second in the 50 and 500 yard stretches. He placed second with the free relay as well.
Kevin Potocki (Fayetteville, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt) anchored the medley relay and placed third in the 100 free. Sophomore Nick Beard (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) scored well, placing second in the 200 breaststroke, adding a third in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 individual medley.
Jake Beley (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) added silvers in the 200 backstroke and the 200 IM. Junior Sasha Jouravlev (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) went two-three in the 100 and 200 backstroke events while Michael Lenker (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) did the same in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.
Junior Travis Lipscomb (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights) claimed bronze in the 100 and 200 butterfly.
The Red Devils improve to 2-1 on the season. They return to action next Saturday, hosting York College at 1:00 pm.
