Box Score (Baltimore, Md.) – The Dickinson men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback at Johns Hopkins University on Saturday evening at Homewood Field in Baltimore.
The Blue Jays struck in the 29th minute, capitalizing on a free kick as Victor Osio deflected the ball into the net for the lone goal of the match.
Osio had an attempt to tally another with just over two minutes remaining in the half but senior goaltender Jeremy Palcan (Park Ridge, Ill./St. Ignatius Prep) was there for the save.
Palcan was called on to make some big saves in the second half to keep the Devils within striking distance. Max Song put a header on target in the 83rd minute, but Palcan came away with another strong stop. He finished with nine on the night.
The Blue Jays held an 18-10 advantage in shots, but edge the Devils, 8-5, after the break. The hosts forced four corner opportunities while Dickinson produced three for the match.
Bryan See made five saves in goal for Hopkins as they improve to 7-2-2 overall and 2-2 in the Centennial Conference.
The Red Devils slip to 3-5-1 overall and 1-3 in the conference. They return home to face McDaniel College in a make-up game on Monday night at 6:00 pm.
