Box Score (Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's soccer team scored twice in the first half and added another in the second to post a key Centennial Conference win over Swarthmore College, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon.
Junior Will Bracken (Easton, Conn./Joel Barlow) found the back of the net twice in a span of less than two minutes to put the Red Devils in front, 2-0, with just over 25 minutes to play in the half.
He tallied the first with an assist from senior Danny Sheppard (Rydal, Pa./Abington) at the 26:52 mark and finished an assist from junior Ryan Brown (Schnecksville, Pa./Moravian Academy) with 25:03 on the clock.
Dickinson added another insurance goal in the 70th minute with junior Matt Edmonds (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) serving an assist to Sheppard to stretch the lead to 3-0.
The Red Devils outshot the Garnet, 19-9 and held a slim edge in corners, 9-8. Michael Thut made six saves for Swarthmore before Oliver Steinglass came on to add one. The Garnet slip to 7-8-1 overall and 3-4-0 in the conference.
Senior Jeremy Palcan (Park Ridge, Ill./St. Ignatius Prep) made three saves and Frederick Meagher (Southport, Conn./Fairfield-Ludlowe) added one for the Red Devils.
Dickinson improves to 6-7-2 and 3-3-1 in the conference. They are on the road on Wednesday, traveling to Muhlenberg for a 7:00 pm start.
