(New Haven, Conn.) – The Dickinson women's squash team advanced to the title match of the College Squash Association D-Division National Team Championships, defeating Connecticut College, 6-3, on Saturday afternoon at the Yale University courts.
First-year Hedvika Suchankova (Olomouc, Czech Republic/St. Michael's) and Nicole DeLuca (Newtown Square, Pa./Baldwin School) won in straight sets to claim the top two flights. Suchankova won (11-8, 11-4, 11-2) while DeLuca allowed just nine points in her win (11-2, 11-7, 11-0).
Alanis Perez (New Haven, Conn./Canterbury School) suffered a tough loss in the fourth, falling 3-2.
Sarah Clothier (Bryn Mawr, Pa./The Shipley School) won in straight sets to take the fifth and Meaghan Dashcund (South Hamilton, Mass./Phillips Exeter Academy) claimed the sixth, 3-1.
Sarah Murphy (Hamilton, Mass./Brooks School) and Freddie Bancroft (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) survived five-set marathons in the seven and nine spots.
The Red Devils will face Wesleyan University at 2:00 pm for the D-Division title.
