Box Score (Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's lacrosse team turned in a dominant performance throughout the game, opening Centennial Conference play with a 17-2 win over visiting Bryn Mawr College on Saturday afternoon at Biddle Field.
The Red Devils jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the 27:26 mark after first-year Sam Marmo (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) put the Red Devils on the board, just 20 seconds into the contest. Junior Maddy Siebold (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) tallied her ninth goal of the season and senior Katie Iverson (Marblehead, Mass./Pingree School) found the net on a free position.
Bryn Mawr capitalized on a free position of their own as Erica Dwyer made the score 3-1. Marmo scored the first and last two goals of an 8-1 run to close out the half with the Red Devils holding an 11-2 advantage.
Katie Barton (Cincinnati, Ohio/Cincinnati Country Day) dished out a pair of assists during the scoring clip as well.
Siebold stretched the margin to 10, just 29 seconds into the second half, finishing an assist from senior Caroline Clancy (Monkton, Md./Hereford). The Red Devils settled in and would score seven more goals after the break for the final with junior Sophie Waine (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) finding the net twice.
Tara Cuddihy (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) made three saves on the first half before first-year Sarah Blelloch (Raleigh, N.C./St. Mary's) came on to make five stops after the break.
Marmo led the attack with four goals and a pair of assists on the day. Siebold scored twice, adding four ground balls and a pair of draw controls. Clancy tallied three assists and scored one, adding a pair of draws as well. Molli Haimerl (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) and Julia Primeau (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) each picked up three ground balls on the defensive end. First-year McKenzie Rambusch (Madison, N.J./Madison) controlled three draws.
Katie Alpert turned away 16 shots in the nets for Bryn Mawr as they slip to 3-3 on season and 0-2 in the Centennial Conference.
The Red Devils improve to 3-3 overall and open 1-0 in conference play. They are in action again on Tuesday, hosting Middlebury College at 4:00 pm.
