Box Score (Frostburg, Md.) – The Dickinson field hockey team erupted after the break, scoring five second half goals in a 6-0 win at Frostburg State University on Wednesday afternoon.
Senior Catherine Perlmutter (Blue Bell, Pa./Germantown Academy) put the Red Devils on the board with just over 12 minutes remaining in the half and in the process became the program's all-time leader in points, recording the 98th of her career.
Perlmutter has scored 42 goals as a Red Devil, adding 18 assists to become the first player in program history to reach the century mark with 102 points. She ranks second in career goals and her 18 assists rank her tied for fifth on that list.
The Red Devils quickly doubled the score after the break as first-year Delaney Ahn (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) finished an assist from Chelsea Kramer (New Vernon, N.J./Morristown Beard), just 53 seconds after the break.
Perlmutter stretched the lead to 3-0, scoring off an assist from sophomore Julia Murphy (Greenwood Village, Colo./Colorado Academy) with a little over 24 minutes to play in regulation.
The Red Devils would strike three more times on the day, scoring the final two goals of the game in a span of just 30 seconds. Kramer found the cage with back-to-back goals with second coming off an assist from Perlmutter.
Junior Amber Dey (Flemington, N.J./South Hunterdon) closed out the scoring with an unassisted goal at the 1:14 mark.
The Red Devils outshot the hosts, 19-2, and held a 10-2 advantage in penalty corners. First-year Heather Meeder (Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep) and junior Freddie Bancroft (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) split time in goal with Bancroft making the lone save on the day.
The Red Devils have won five straight games to improve to 6-2 on the season. They return to Centennial Conference action on Saturday, traveling to Muhlenberg College for a 1:00 pm start.
