(New London, Conn.) – The #21-ranked Dickinson women's squash team opened a three-day tour with an impressive 9-0 win at #28-Connecticut College on Thursday.
Sophomore Hedvika Suchankova (Olumouc, Czech Republic/St. Michael's) claimed the top flight, 3-1, posting scores of (11-9, 9-11, 11-7, 11-7).
Domenica Romo (Ambato, Ecuador/Colegio Atenas) and Nicole DeLuca (Newtown Square, Pa./Baldwin School) won in straight sets to capture the second and third flights. Romo went (11-7, 11-5, 11-6) while DeLuca outlasted her opponent in a tight second set (11-4, 16-14, 11-7).
Abbie Wingerd (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) added straight set win in the number five spot, going (11-6, 11-7, 11-6).
The Red Devils improve to 4-6 overall. They are scheduled to face #22-Bowdoin College and #18-Tufts University on Friday before matching up with #20-Wellesley College on Saturday.
