Box Score (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) – The Dickinson field hockey team rebounded with a 3-0 win at a, much improved Bryn Mawr College program, on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils did strike early, scoring just 3:40 into the contest as sophomore Alana Platukus (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Pittston Area) finished an assist from junior Chelsea Kramer (New Vernon, N.J./Morristown-Beard) to put the Red Devils on the board.
Sophomore Kayla Bendinelli (Princeton, N.J./Montgomery) put Dickinson in front, 2-0 in the first half, scoring with 18:10 remaining.
She would tally another in the 54th minute, lofting a shot over the goaltender to give the Devils a 3-0 advantage.
The Red Devils held an 11-9 advantage in shots as Bryn Mawr goaltender Angela Meng tallied four saves on the day.
Senior Freddie Bancroft (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) recorded four saves and Heather Meeder (Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep) came on to make two stops to secure the shutout.
The Red Devils improve to 7-6 overall and 3-4 in the Centennial Conference. They return home for a non-conference match-up with Juniata College on Wednesday. Game time is set for 3:30 pm.
