Box Score

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson field hockey team looked to rally from a 3-1 deficit but visiting Haverford would hold on for a 3-2 decision on Senior Day Saturday at Biddle Field.

Paige Powell scored a pair of first half goals for Haverford, finding the cage in the 11th minute and again with 3:56 remaining.

Junior Chelsea Kramer (New Vernon, N.J./Morristown Beard) cut the deficit to 2-1, answering a minute later as she redirected a shot from Marie Laverdiere (Springfield, Va./West Springfield).

The Fords capitalized on a penalty corner to stretch the lead to 3-1. Leela Krishnan tipped in a shot from Eleana Veale with 29 minutes remaining in the game.

Kramer kept the Devil's hopes alive, finding the back of the cage again with just over two minutes to play. Haverford would hold on to secure the 3-2 win as they improve to 8-7 overall and 3-5 in the Centennial Conference.

Danielle Rhett finished with five saves for Haverford. Senior Freddie Bancroft (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) tallied eight saves for the Red Devils.

Penalty corners were even for the match, 8-8, with Haverford holding a 17-11 advantage in shots.

The Red Devils slip to 8-7 overall and stand even with the Fords at 3-5 in the conference. The Red Devils are home again on Wednesday, hosting McDaniel College at 3:30 pm. They travel to Gettysburg on Friday for the regular season finale, also at 3:30 pm.
