(Philadelphia, Pa.) – The #20-ranked Dickinson women's squash team suffered a 9-0 setback at at #16-ranked Drexel University in the regular season finale on Sunday afternoon.
Sophomore Hedvika Suchankova (Olomouc, Czech Republic/St. Michael's) claimed the third set, but fell 3-1 in the top flight (11-6, 11-9, 7-11, 11-6). Classmate Domenica Romo (Ambato, Ecuador/Colegio Atenas) showed well in the first and third sets in a tough match in the second.
Abbie Wingerd (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) and Sarah Murphy (Hamilton, Mass./Brooks School) put up points at five and six while senior Patricia Francis-Hall (New York, N.Y./The Pomfret School) (11-6, 11-4, 11-1) and Meagan Dashcund (South Hamilton, Mass./Phillips Exeter Academy) had strong starts in the eight and nine flights, (11-5, 11-4, 11-3).
The Red Devils slip to 8-10 on the season. They travel to the College Squash Association Team Championships at Princeton University on February 24, 25 and 26th.
