Kramer Strikes Twice to Lead Devils to 4-1 Start

(Winchester, Va.) – The Dickinson field hockey team improved to 4-1 on the season with a 2-0 shutout victory at Shenandoah University on Tuesday night.

Junior Chelsea Kramer (New Vernon, N.J./Morristown-Beard) scored both goals for the Red Devils, netting the game-winner, just 5:37 into the match.

Kramer finished an assist from senior Amber Dey (Flemington, N.J./South Hunterdon) in the 25th minute as the Devils struck twice on just four shots in the opening half.

The defensive battle continued throughout the second half as each team managed to produce just four shots. The Hornets held the edge in corners, 6-4.

Junior goalkeeper Freddie Bancroft (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) made four saves to earn the shutout.

The Red Devils are on the road again on Saturday, opening Centennial Conference play at Swarthmore College at 1:00 pm.
