Box Score (Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team had another strong performance, scoring four goals and posting its fifth shutout of the season. They turned back Shenandoah University, 4-0, on Wednesday at Miller Memorial Field.
The Red Devils capitalized on a corner in the 14th minute as Killian Donohue (Bronxville, N.Y./Bronxville) served a perfect ball to the head of Olivia Termini (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) to put Dickinson on the board. Donohue has recorded all six of her points this season on corners and set pieces.
Sophomore Addy Zandi (West Chester, Pa./B. Reed Henderson) made a turn at the top of the penalty area and fired a shot into the back of the net in the 54th minute to stretch the lead to 2-0.
A defensive miscue led to an own goal, putting the Red Devils in front, 3-0, with just under six minutes to play. Senior Alexandra Goldrich (Little Silver, N.J./Red Bank Regional) added a beautiful goal to close out the scoring, redirecting a header from Abby Kaija (Reading, Vt./Woodstock) for the final of 4-0.
The Red Devils turned in a strong defensive effort as well, holding the Hornets to just two shots in the first half and held a 22-9 advantage for the match. Junior Mary Katherine Brosnan (Old Tappan, N.J./Northern Valley Old Tappan) made six saves in the nets, raising her season shutout mark to five as well.
Charlotte Evans made six saves in goal for Shenandoah as they fall to 3-3 on the season.
The Red Devils improve to 6-0 on the season under new Head Coach Ted Zingman. They are on the road on Saturday, opening Centennial Conference play with a showdown at Swarthmore College. The Garnet, ranked 10th-nationally, were unbeaten at 5-0, heading into Wednesday night's match with Montclair State.
