Box Score (Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's soccer team handed visiting McDaniel College its first loss of the season. The Red Devils did not hold back, posting a 5-0 win over the Green Terror on Saturday afternoon.
Five different players scored while senior Matt Edmonds (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) handed out three assists on the day while sophomore Kevin Gilbert (Boxford, Mass./Masconemet Regional) scored once and dished out two assists.
Gilbert finished the first of Edmonds' helpers, netting the game-winner in the 25th minute. Just over a minute later Gilbert paid it forward, finding senior Chris Pollock (Salem, Va./North Cross) to a 2-0 advantage.
Just moments later again, Edmonds fed Mohammed Kane (New Haven, Conn./Wilbur Cross) for a 3-0 lead with 16:10 to play in the half.
The Red Devils struck again, almost immediately after halftime as first-year Ian Logan (Westford, Mass./Westford Academy) broke free and finished with Edmonds' final point of the match. Gilbert closed things out, finding first-year Colin Fagan (Chalfont, Pa./C.B. South) at the 35 minute mark.
Nick Over finished with four saves as McDaniel slips to 5-1-1 on the season and 1-1-0 in the Centennial Conference.
John Baney (Ridgewood, N.J./Montclair Kimberley Academy) made three saves while Maxwell Barrett (East Andover, N.H./Proctor Academy) came on to make a pair as the Red Devils improve to 5-2-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the CC.
The Red Devils travel to Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday night for a 7:00 pm kick-off.
