Box Score (Westminster, Md.) – The Dickinson field hockey team scored early on the way to 3-0 victory at McDaniel College on Wednesday afternoon. Senior Chelsea Kramer (New Vernon, N.J./Morristown-Beard) struck twice on the day, netting the game-winner, just 3:28 into the match.
Kramer collected a rebounded shot and put the ball in the back of the cage to put the Red Devils on the board.
Sophomore Marie Laverdiere (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) stretched the lead to 2-0 in the 46th minute, blasting a shot from the top of the circle to finish an assist from Jillian Beemon (Ann Arbor, Mich./Skyline).
Kramer continued to have a hot stick, scoring on a penalty corner with 10 minutes to play with fsenior Kaity Kalady (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) recording the assist.
Junior goalkeeper Heather Meeder (Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep) made four saves to earn the shutout with the help of a defensive save from first-year Hannah Spiri (Morgantown, Pa./Twin Valley).
The Red Devils outshot the Green Terror, 8-5, and held a 7-4 advantage in penalty corners. Paige Ford made three saves for McDaniel.
The Red Devils improve to 4-5 in the Centennial Conference to keep their playoff hopes alive and move to 5-11 overall. They return home for the regular season finale, hosting Gettysburg College at 12:00 pm.
