Bloes Buzzer Beater Leads Red Devils to 10-9 Win

Box Score

(Carlisle, Pa.) – Dickinson first-year Erika Bloes (Riverside, Conn./Greenwich) scored with just two seconds remaining to lead the Red Devil women's lacrosse team to a thrilling 10-9 win over visiting Muhlenberg on Saturday afternoon.

Dickinson took a quick 2-0 lead before the Mules countered to pull even and the game never saw a three-goal advantage from either team.

Muhlenberg jumped in front 5-3 but Sam Marmo (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) and Maddie Parker (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) answered to pull even, 5-5.

Jordy Bonvini scored back-to-back goals before Anne Dunster (Cos Cobb, Conn./Greenwich) netted her second of the game to make the score 7-6, Mules, at the break.

Eleanor Kaestner (Glyndon, Md./Franklin) found the net, just 53 seconds into the second half but Muhlenberg would counter to take a 9-7 lead with just under 21 minutes remaining.

Kaestner scored off an assist from Marmo and first-year Greta Holt (Alexandria, Va./Episcopal) converted a free position to tie the game again with 11:39 on clock.

They would be all the scoring until Bloes buzzer-beater with just two ticks left to play. Each team had multiple possessions in the final minutes but it would be the Red Devils who would net the game-winner.

Mindy Corney (Ballston Lake, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) and Parker each tallied four ground balls while McKenzie Rambusch (Madison, N.J./Madison) controlled four draws.

First-year goaltender Avery Priest (San Rafael, Calif./St. Ignatius Prep) finished with nine saves and forced a pair of turnovers.

Jordan Segrave made 10 saves for Muhlenberg as they slip to 6-7 overall and 2-5 in the Centennial Conference.

The Red Devils improve to 7-7 overall and 4-3 in the conference. The Red Devils travel to #5 ranked Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday. The opening draw is set for 4:00 pm.
