Red Devils Go Head to Head With #7 Diplomats

Box Score

(Lancaster, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's lacrosse team went head to head with #7 ranked Franklin & Marshall, playing to a 9-9 tie before the Diplomats escaped with a 13-10 decision on Wednesday.

The Diplomats went up 2-0 but Sam Marmo (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) answered with 20 minutes to play in the half.

Dickinson went on a 3-1 run to take a 4-3 advantage as Greta Holt (Alexandria, Va./Episcopal) and Anne Dunster (Cos Cobb, Conn./Greenwich) put unassisted goals on the board and Marmo fed Maddie Parker (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) at the 5:36 mark.

F&M strung together three straight before Erika Bloes (Riverside, Conn./Greenwich) made the score 6-5, at the break.

The Devils made a pair of defensive stands to open the second half while Parker converted a free position and slipped past the defense to put Dickinson in front, 7-6, with 25:38 remaining.

Dunster finished a great look and feed from Mack Maurer (Charlottesville, Va./St. Anne's Belfield) to give the Red Devils an 8-6 lead.

F&M used a pair of free position goals to pull even and a fast break goal from Grace Norley to regain the edge, 9-8. Danielle Harrington made a big save on a free position to trigger the break.

Dunster netted her third to knot the game again at the 16 minute mark. The Diplomats then rattled off four straight goals with the help of two more free positions.

Laurie Travaglini (Darien, Conn./Darien) added a late free position goal for the final of 13-10.

Parker finished with a hat trick as well, adding three draws. Holt dominated the draw, controlling eight while Dunster tallied three draws and two ground balls.

Harrington finished with eight saves as F&M improved to 16-3 overall and remained unbeaten in the Centennial Conference at 8-0.

Avery Priest (San Rafael, Calif./St. Ignatius Prep) turned in an outstanding performance as well, turning away six shots on the night.

The Red Devils slip to 7-8 overall and 4-4 in the conference. They return home to face Ursinus College and celebrate senior day at 3:00 pm on Saturday.
