(New Haven, Conn.) – The #23-ranked Dickinson women's squash team suffered a 6-3 setback to #18-ranked Franklin & Marshall in the opening round of the Walker Cup (C-Division) at the College Squash Association Team Championships on Friday morning.
Sophomore Lindsay Kuracina (Thornhill, Ontario, Canada/Lake Forest) rallied from a 2-1 deficit to claim the second flight with strong play in the fourth and fifth sets, (11-3, 9-11, 5-11, 11-6, 11-5).
First-year Doxey Loupassi (Richmond, Va./St. Catherine's) survived an epic five-set match as well, coming out on top in the sixth flight (11-9, 4-11, 11-6, 10-12, 12-10).
Junior Catie Nolan (Richmond, Va./St. Catherine's) earned the third point with a straight set win in the number nine position (11-8, 11-6, 11-4) while first-year Sarah Wojtczak (Woodbury, Conn./Westover) claimed a win in exhibition (12-10, 11-4, 9-11, 11-7).
The Red Devils move into the consolation bracket semifinals and will face #22- ranked William Smith College at 9:30 am on Saturday morning.
