Box Score (Annville, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's lacrosse team broke open the game, late in the first half on the way to a 17-7 win at Lebanon Valley College on Saturday.
Junior Erika Bloes (Riverside, Conn./Greenwich) scored her 100th career point, finding the net twice in the opening 10 minutes of the game.
LVC struck first before Bloes struck twice in a span of two minutes to reach the century mark.
The Dutchwomen capitalized on a pair of free positions before the Red Devils rattled off six straight goals to take an 8-3 lead into halftime.
Five different players scored in the run with Greta Holt (Alexandria, Va./Episcopal) scoring twice while Bloes dished out a pair of assists.
Holt found Maddy Gesner (West Newton, Mass./Kimball Union Academy) on the opening draw of the second half as she tallied her second of the game. The teams traded goals with Dickinson holding a 12-7 advantage at the 14:45 mark.
The Red Devils would lock down the defense, keeping the hosts off the board for the remainder of the game, adding a 5-0 run for the final of 17-7.
Bloes scored twice to trigger the final run and Mack Maurer (Charlottesville, Va./St. Anne's Belfield) added a pair as well.
Bloes finished with five goals and two assists. Gessner and Holt each tallied three goals and two assists while Maurer added two assists to her two goals.
Drew Yager (Towson, Md./Notre Dame Prep) made eight saves and controlled four ground balls. Clare Janzer (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) anchored the defense with three GBs and Liv Yeagle (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) controlled four draws.
The Red Devils move to 2-0 on the season. They are on the road again on Wednesday, traveling to Messiah College for a 4:00 pm start.
