Box Score (Winter Haven, Fla.) – The Dickinson baseball team dropped a 7-0 decision to Washington University (St. Louis) on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bears capitalized on some Red Devil errors to score once in the first inning and tack in three in the sixth to stretch the lead to 4-0.
Washington tallied a pair of unearned runs and Caleb Durbin tripled in the ninth and came in to score his second run of the game for the final of 7-0.
Brendan Pell (Delran, N.J./Penn Charter) went 1-for-2 with a double to lead the way as Matt Ashbaugh went seven innings and the Bears held the Red Devils to just four hits.
Peyton Fox (York, Pa./Dallastown) suffered the loss, despite a solid effort, scattering two hits while recording four strikeouts in three innings. Ethan Collins (Elmer, N.J./Arthur P. Schalick) came on to add five strikeouts and Cole Benner (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) recorded a pair in the final 1.2 innings.
The Red Devils move to 6-6 on the season. They are in action again on Thursday, taking on Mount Union in a double-header with the first pitch scheduled for 3:00 pm.
