CARLISLE, Pa. – The Dickinson men's soccer team got goals from Max Matsumoto, Geoffrey Ogenrwot, and Chaz Smith, while the goalkeeper trio of Alexander Henrich, Andrew Kempe, and Thomas Sniezek did not have to make a single save as the Red Devils capped off their non-conference slate with a 3-0 win over the visiting Southern Virginia University on Wednesday night.

Dickinson made the first shot of the match count as Geoffrey Ogenrwot stole an errant Knights cross-field pass at the halfway line and walked in alone at SVU keeper Spencer Young and slipped the ball outside his reach for the 1-0 edge at the 11-minute mark. Then, just 1:51 later Tyson Burling missed the target, before had their, but Tanner Gonder sent his offering wide right. The Devils had an opportunity to extend their advantage as Ronan Higgins tried to take advantage of a penalty inside the box, however, his shot would hit the crossbar to hold the lead at just 1-0. Johnny Melancon had an ambitious go at goal from about 30-yards on the final kick of the half but missed high.

The home side would have the first three opportunities in the second period, but Luke Beiles and Adam Moreland were unable to test Young. They finally struck again in the 59th-minute as Chaz Smith tallied an unassisted marker. Dickinson made it 3-0 ten minutes later as Max Matsumoto converted from the spot after being knocked over in the box by Calum Yule. Nigel Woodroffe had a chance to stretch it to 4-0 in the 89th, however, he was unable to tuck the ball into the net.
