Women's Squash Splits Pair of Matches on Sunday

GENEVA, N.Y. - The Dickinson women's squash team split a pair of matches on Sunday to conclude a busy three-day stretch. First, the Red and Black dropped a tight 6-3 decision to William Smith College, before dominating Mount Holyoke College by a 9-0 margin at the Smith Squash Center on the campus of Hobart and William Smith College.

Dickinson got a shutout at the top flight from Amna Fayyaz as she knocked off Laila Selim. Whitney Finney added the second victory for the Devils at the fourth spot by bringing down Jada Smith-Padmore. Ellissa Goldman posted the second 3-0 win for the Red and Black in the eighth slot over Erin Griffis. Emerson Rains looked to be on her way to a win at the seventh flight as she went up 2-1 on Molly Wachter. However, Wachter rallied back with wins of 11-6 and 13-11 to take the match. Doxey Loupassi and Cate Moll each picked up a game in their duel as well.

Dickinson was in complete control of the match from the word go as they earned seven 3-0 victories thanks to Finney, Goldman, Kuracina, Moll, Nimoityn, Rains, and Young. Fayyaz added another win to her ledger by bringing down Mihiliya Kalahe Arachchige in the top slot by a 3-1 scoreline. Howerton completed the 9-0 score by winning by default after the Lyons did not have an athlete to compete at the ninth flight.
