Long Named CC Defensive Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. - For the second time this season the Dickinson football team had a player earn Centennial Conference Player of the Week honors as graduate student linebacker Tanner Long has been chosen as the Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Sunday.

The Warrington, Pennsylvania native recorded a team-high 17 tackles, including seven solo stops, as Red Devils picked up a convincing 26-7 win over Moravian at Biddle Field. He also posted 1.5 tackles for loss while chipping in a sack. Long's 17 tackles are a single-game high among all conference players this season and marks the second-straight week he has registered 17 tackles. He was a main cog in a defensive unit that allowed just one score and pitched three scoreless quarters. Long leads the Centennial in total tackles (68) and tackles per game (11.3)

The Red and White return to the field on Saturday afternoon at 1pm when they head to Lancaster to take on Franklin & Marshall College in the Battle for the Conestoga Wagon.
