BALTIMORE - The fifth-ranked Johns Hopkins University had the majority of the ball and the possession on Wednesday night, but it would not be enough as Tyson Burling found a 72nd-minute equalizer to help the Dickinson men's soccer team earn a 1-1 Centennial Conference draw at Homewood Field.

Nick Potter made the start between the sticks for the Red and White and was immediately tested just 69-seconds in as he denied the attempt from Sam Martin. Hopkins continued to keep the pressure up the remainder of the half as they outshot the Devils 8-0 the rest of the way with Potter making stops against Aidan Dunphy twice and Tyler White once to head to the break level at 0-0.

Once again Potter would be busy early shutting down Jonathan Cui inside the opening three minutes of the second period. However, the Blue Jays eventually found the breakthrough two minutes later when Ian Whamond found his brother Axel Whamond for the finish and the 1-0 edge. Dickinson recorded their first shot of the match in the 55th with Jackson Wolf sending one to the right of Alex Morgret with 54:51 off the clock, before Saul Iwowo ripped one over the target nine minutes later. After the Jays had the next three shots forcing Potter into one more save, the Devils drew even when Luke Beiles lifted a cross into the box from the left-wing that was headed into the back of the net by Burling for the tie. Beiles tried to find a go-ahead marker in the 80th minute, however Morgret was there for the stop. Hopkins had the last five chances, which included pinging the crossbar with 14-seconds left to hold the final scoreline at 1-1.
