CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's volleyball team got kills from ten different players on Tuesday night as the Red and White coasted to a 3-0 win in their non-conference finale against Penn College of Technology at the Kline Center.
The Red Devils took advantage of three errors and kills by
Cassidy Davis,
Camille Dofiles, and
Emma Popham to take a 5-1 lead. A miscue from
Dessie Anne Nietert stopped the charge, before
Sophia Denayer,
Emma Lange, and
Avery Lewis went on an 11-3 run stretching the margin to 16-4. DC outpaced the visitors 4-3 over the next seven points Denayer, Lange, and Nietert scoring for the hosts. Penn pushed back using a 5-3 push on kills by Hailey DeBrody, Lauren Hergert, and Maggie Mangene to close within 23-10. Points from
Jordan Schucker and Lange to cap the 25-10 win.
The Devs were rolling again to kickoff the second as three consecutive kills from
Mathilde Verbitsky along with two aces for
Ann Marie Patterson made it 9-1. The two sides shared the ensuing eight points, before scores by Lange and Verbitsky opened up a double-digit cushion at 16-5. PCT answered back with five in a row thanks in large part to four home miscues to cut the deficit down to 16-10. However, a 9-3 response by DC aided by kills from
Lillian Bigsby,
Willow Palmer, and Patterson gave the home side a 25-13 victory.Â
A block by Bigsby and kills for Davis, Lange, Palmer, and Verbitsky opened up 7-3 edge to start the third. The Wildcats then found a little rhythm as scores by Cheyenne Stein, DeBrody, and Mangene brought the visitors back to even at 10-10. Once again Dickinson had the answer with Bigsby, Davis, and Lange each helping the Devils to jump ahead 17-12. PCT would not go quietly with Coryn Oswald, DeBrody, and Hergert closing the margin to 21-16, before four 'Cats errors cost them the set and the match (25-16).
