WESTMINSTER, Md. - The Dickinson men's soccer team recorded 11 shots on the afternoon, but were unable to solve keeper Austin Heid as the Red and White shared the points with the McDaniel College Green Terror in a 0-0 Centennial Conference draw at the Green Terror Soccer Complex.
It was the Devils with the early pressure as
Saul Iwowo and
Chaz Smith each forced saves out of Heid inside the opening seven minutes. Three minutes later DC was on the attack again with
Andrew McSlarrow and Iwowo sailing shots to the right of the mark. McDaniel finally got themselves a couple of opportunities with Brandon Morse and Noah Rodriguez both being turned away by Dickinson keeper
Andrew Kempe. In the 17th-minute it was once again McDaniel on the defensive as Heid was called into action again knocking away a blast by
Chris Hackley. Dickinson had the final three chances of the half, but the offerings by
Tyson Burling,
Johnny Diederich, and
Alex Spiegel did not bother Heid sending the match to the break at 0-0.Â
Morse recorded the opening attempt in the second period with 11:28 off the clock, however, it went to the right of Kempe's goal. During the 61st-minute each side had a shot with Hackley and Gage Souder both missing the mark. The keepers would be called into action one more time apiece as Kempe turned away an offering by Souder (75th), while Heid beat away a shot from Iwowo in the 78th. With just over a minute remaining
Alessandro Forero had one last look at target, but it went to the right of Heid to secure the 0-0 draw.
