CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's squash team began their 2023-2024 campaign with a convincing 7-1 win over the visiting Franklin & Marshall College of Friday evening at the Kline Squash Center.

Three newcomers to this year's squad got off to a great start as
Anne Leakey opened her year by falling behind 1-0 to Aryaa Ogale at the number two slot, before storming back to take the next three games and the match 3-1. A slot behind her
Katie Herring had too much for Catherine Costin posting a 3-0 shutout, while
Thea Hegde in the fifth spot also finished with a 3-0 shutout of Mia Todd.
Amna Fayyaz playing number one once again for the Red and White fended off two close games against Gurlin Kaur both by 11-7 margins, prior to taking the third 11-3.
Ella Goldman and
Emerson Rains both took care of business at the seventh and eighth flights respectively winning in three games apiece. The only match to go the distance came at number six where
Victoria Savelius took a 1-0 lead, before Tatum Long recorded back-to-back 11-8 wins to put the Devil's back to the wall. However, wins of 11-6 and 12-10 secured the 3-2 win.
