BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After a month-long winter break, the Dickinson College women's track and field team traveled to the Moravian University Indoor Meet contested at Lehigh University, ready and excited to get back on the track in the new year.
Sprints
Four Red Devils sprinted for 60m: Sara Penuela ending at 8.15 seconds (6th); Mariana Penuela at 8.36 (17th); Eliza Gichner at 8.99 (34th); Catarina Acosta at 9.26 (37th). Adding hurdles to the 60m, Sophia Kovatsis hurdled her way into fifth with 9.76 seconds. In eighth was Darya Mikusova (10.08) and Sylvie McMaken-Marsh found her way to 17th (10.76).
In the 200m run, Maddie Kyle found her way to 18th stopping the clock at 28.24 seconds; Abbe Kitchin took 27th (29.15); Madison Brown in 33rd at 29.64; Morgan Mooradian in 35th (29.94). Emerlee Simons found her way to second place in the 400m run (1:00.90), with Mikusova taking fifth with 1:02.19, Evelyn Swayze in 23rd (1:09.42), and Kaliegh Vitu taking 31st with 1:10.84.
Distance
In the 5000m, Sammy Jo Barnes claimed seventh place by clocking in at 19:18.98 minutes while Meghan Higgins-Haas got 13th with 20:11.61 minutes. Amiyah Priebe claimed first in the mile race with Charlotte Kratovil-Lavelle made fourth (5:26.69), Breanna Franchak in 25th (6:05.19), and Leah Bell claimed 35th (6:37.83).
Priebe continued her reign in the 800m run, championing the race with 2:24.16 minutes. Kratovil-Lavelle followed her in sixth place (2:30.76), Marley Kurey came in 14th (2:36.05), and Rebecca Roberts in 25th (2:47.00).
Relays
In the Distance Medley Relay a team comprised of Barnes, Bell, Franchak, and Higgins-Haas landed in sixth timing out at 14:32.95 minutes. For the 4x400, the Red Devils made two teams. The first of Simons, S. Penuela, Kurey, and Mikusova came in third (4:15.61), while the second team of Brown, Kitchin, Kovatsis, and Kyle followed in fourth (4:26.23).
Field Events
In the shot put, Abby Everett landed in fourth (10.93m), Claire Shearer in eighth (10.22m), Kovatsis in 16th (9.61m), Jenna Deep in 20th (9.15m) and Biwott in 27th (7.4m). Meanwhile, in the weight throw, the trio of Deep, Everett, and Shearer competed for the respective places of 14th (12.62m), 18th (11.84m), and 21st (10.95m).
In the long jump, S. and M. Penuela came in fourth and fifth respectively with the same mark of 5.04m. Biwott continued her day by competing in the event posting a 4.93m for eighth place and joining them is Annie Leder jumping 4.63m (17th place). Leder was the only Dickinson triple jumper and achieved 14th with a jump of 9.44m.
McMaken-Marsh was the solo pole vaulter for the Red and White, placing 13th with a vault of 2.59m, while at the high jump pit, Mooradian claimed 14th by jumping 1.40m.

The Red and White will make their way to Lancaster, Pennsylvania on Saturday where Franklin and Marshall College will hold the Mini Dip Invitational at 10:00am!
