GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Dickinson women's track and field team competed in the annual Little 3 Meet at Gettysburg College this weekend. Although the Red Devils fell to both the Bullets and Diplomats, the team still collected many top-three finishes and senior
Erin Olsavsky won two events.
Sprints
- The 100m featured senior Erin Olsavsky's first win of the day, recording a strong 12.56 finish. The time currently ranks seventh in Dickinson history.Â
- She continued in the 200m with another victory, clocking a time of 26.23. Sophomore Emily Chaine finished in 29.41, good for sixth place and two points.Â
- Chaine notched a great finish in the 400m, taking third place in 1:03.67.Â
Distance
- Junior Marley Kurey finished third overall in the 800m with a great 2:28.20 performance. In fifth was sophomore Sophia Kovalski, clocking a time of 2:29.78.
- In the 1500m, sophomore Liza Barbash claimed third place with a great time of 4:56.34. Fellow sophomore Devon Culberson took fifth overall, recording a time of 5:14.90.
- First-year Margaret Randolph placed fourth in the 3000m Steeple with a time of 13:23.46.Â
- The 5000m featured Meghan Higgins-Haas's great second-place performance, finishing in 18:30.97. First-years Roma Diak and Meghan McGinnis went back-to-back in fifth and sixth place, recording times of 19:25.08 and 19:54.70 respectively.Â
Field
- Friday night's event was the hammer, where sophomore Sarah Glickson took second place with a 37.80m mark. Senior Anna Purvis finished fourth overall, recording a 31.97m.Â
- Discus showcased junior Damien Labrada's second-place outing with a 32.50m throw.Â
- In the high jump, first-year Amanda Hoglund claimed third overall with a 1.46m.Â
- Taking second in javelin was Olsavsky, recording a mark of 31.60m. Glickson took fourth overall with a mark of 25.60m.
- Hoglund took third in the long jump, recording a distance of 4.66m.
- The shot put featured Labrada's second-place finish with a mark of 10.77m. Glickson's 9.63m throw was good for fourth overall.Â
- Recording another top finish was Hoglund in the triple jump, finishing second with a 9.99m.Â
Relays
- The A Relay of Sylvie McMaken-Marsh, Melina Gregory, Chaine, and Olsavsky took second in the 4x100m, clocking a time of 51.79.Â
- Also finishing second was the A Relay of Kovalski, Lauren Scott, Culberson, and Kurey in the 4x800m, recording a great time of 10:36.77.Â
- In the 4x400m relay, the A squad of Kovalski, Scott, Annaliesa Fry, and Kurey finished third in 4:28.56.Â
What's Next?
The Red and White continue the outdoor season next Wednesday, April 1 at the York Midweek Invite. Events are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at Graham Field.
