LANCASTER, Pa. - The Dickinson women's indoor track and field team were back in action on Saturday afternoon by posting a strong showing at the Mini Dip Invitational hosted by Franklin and Marshall College inside the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center.
Sprints
A trio of Devils were involved in the 60m with
Mariana Penuela claiming sixth with a time of 8.22, followed by
Naomi Alperin in 33rd (8.77) and
Eliza Gichner at 8.85 (36th). Once hurdles were added to the event
Darya Mikusova grabbed fourth (9.68), while
Sophia Kovatsis seized sixth (9.86).
Sylvie McMaken-Marsh completed the group with a 13th-place result by hitting the line in 10.70.
Emerlee Simons collected the first win of the meet for the Red and White by besting the field for the 200m with a mark of 26.71.
Morgan Mooradian joined her inside the Top-15 in 14th thanks to a 29.22. Gichner secured a Top-20 result by clocking in at 29.93 (19th).
Mikusova continued a strong outing during the 300m hitting the stripe in 43.32 for second. Two other DC athletes saw their first action of the day as Kaleigh Vitu and
Evelyn Swayze ran together in 34th (48.61) and 35th (48.64). Â
The duo of Madison Brown and
Abbe Kitchin competed in the 400m taking seventh (1:06.15) and 13th (1:07.22).
Distance
Two members of the Red and White earned Top-10 places for the 800m as
Marley Kurey grabbed sixth (2:35.18), while Kovatsis claimed tenth (2:42.40).
Leah Biwott got involved for the first time on the day posting a time of 2:48.12 for 17th.
Two of the Top-3 spots in the mile run belonged to the Devils with
Amiyah Priebe winning the event in 5:15.83, followed in third by
Charlotte Kratovil-Lavelle (5:22.73).
Sammy Jo Barnes finished off the Top-5 thanks to a 5:29.63.
Meghan Higgins-Haas (33rd - 6:00.54),
Rebecca Roberts (42nd - 6:09.63) and
Leah Bell (53rd - 6:33.46) all took part in the event as well.
The trio of Kratovil-Lavelle,
Myra Naqvi and
Breanna Franchak took to the track for the 5000m nabbing slots three (18:49.59), four (18:50.12) and thirteen (20:44.66) respectively.
Relays
Dickinson won the 4x200m with a time of 1:48.33, while the "B" squad locked up sixth (1:57.83). The 4x400m had the Red and White occupy both fourth (4:22.43) and ninth (4:34.66).Â
Field
Two Devils secured Top-10 finishes in the shot put with
Abby Everett in second (11.73m) and
Claire Shearer nabbing tenth (10.31m).
Damien Labrada and
Jenna Deep landed in 18th (9.95m) and 24th (9.44m). The same group then did battle in the weight throw with a finishing order of Deep (8th - 13.59m), Everett (17th - 12.15m), Shearer (23rd - 11.58m) and Labrada (27th - 10.42m).
McMaken-Marsh cleared 2.43m to finish 15th in the pole vault.Â
In the jumps, Mooradian got over the 1.42m mark for eighth during the high jump. Leder posted a jump of 4.74m for ninth in the long jump, while Vitu landed at 4.07m (20th). Leder rounded out the Top-10 of the triple jump by hitting the sand at 9.39m.

Dickinson is back in action on Friday afternoon at the New York Invitational beginning at 4pm.
