#8 Devils Takedown McDaniel in CC Clash

WESTMINSTER, Md. - The eighth-ranked Dickinson men's soccer team got an 81st-minute tally from junior Saul Iwowo to secure a vital three points in the Centennial Conference table with a 1-0 win over the host McDaniel College on Saturday afternoon at the Soccer Complex.

Template - 1st Half
  • The Red and White had the home side pinned in their defensive half early recording six shots within the opening 20 minutes thanks to Luke Beiles, Nicholas Dwamena, Ethan Jarden, Daniel Spataro, Jackson Wolf and Iwowo forcing a pair of stops out of Tate Roth.
  • Jared Edge and Luke Hammer each fired towards Aidan George in the DC net, but neither tested the keeper.
  • The Devils weren't done pressuring the Green Terror's backline as Mack Moore, Connor Uitterdijk, Timi Omoniwa and Jarden all fired at Roth's net tasking him to notch one more stop as the game went to the break.
  • Dickinson held an impressive 11-2 edge in shots through 45 minutes.
Template - 2nd Half
  • It took ten minutes to see the first shot of the frame when Brandon Morse had one blocked by the DC defense.
  • Two minutes later the Devils worked their way back inside the visitors box and watched Omoniwa blast one at Roth which he pushed aside.
  • The trio of Westin Fryberger, Dwamena and Jarden each released a shot that missed the mark as Dickinson kept on the attack with the match hitting the final ten minutes.
  • That was when the Red and White finally found the breakthrough as Jeremy Sallade sent a pass to Dwamena who laid it off to Jarden, before he found Iwowo for the finish past Roth.
  • Both Jarden and Omoniwa called upon Roth to keep it at 1-0, while neither Chase Osborn or Noah Rodriguez were able to bother George as the final horn sounded.
