LANCASTER, Pa. - The sixth-ranked Dickinson men's soccer team took the lead two times on Wednesday afternoon, but the 23rd-ranked and Centennial Conference leading Franklin & Marshall College had the answer each time as the two sides played to a 2-2 draw at Tylus Field.
- Dickinson had the home side pinned in their defensive half early as a corner put in by Geoffrey Ogenrwot almost curled right into the net as the ball beat Nolan Booth, but pinged the crossbar with just over a minute gone.
- However, in the fifth-minute Dickinson's pressure was rewarded with Ogenrwot making a run down the right side and curling a pass to Ethan Jarden who finished between the legs of Booth.
- Offerings from Saul Iwowo and Jarden missed the mark over the next couple of minutes, while Nathan Schlessinger had a chance knocked away by the DC defense.
- With 15:08 off the clock the home side found an equalizer with Adam Green taking a shot that was shutdown by Aidan George, but the ensuing rebound bounced right out to Koa Kaliebe who bested George.
- Following a chance for Nicholas Dwamena that went wide of Booth, the Diplomats tallied the next six shots with Jack Borden and Schlessinger forcing George to make saves.
- The next shot for the Devils came during the 35th when Luke Finkielstein headed one over the net, before Johnny Diederich and Connor Uitterdijk each had one blocked a minute later.
- Tyson Burling almost gave the visitors the lead just prior to the break, but Booth climbed the ladder to punch the ball over the bar.
- For the second period in a row it was the Devils that carried the play early with a pair of corner kicks leading to chances for both Daniel Spataro and Iwowo forcing one stop by Booth.
- Then, much like the first-half DC got their payoff when in the 55th, Spataro ripped one off of Booth which skipped out to Iwowo for the finish.
- F&M responded with shots by Nico Gonzalez, Thomas Kaplan and Green, but George was there to make two more saves.
- The similar script to the first half continued as the Diplomats eventually answered back as a chain of passes led to Oscar Horwitz dropping a pass off to Green who ripped a shot across the face of George to tie things up in the 64th.
- Following two more shots by the hosts that were blocked down by the DC defense, Spataro went back down the pitch and unleashed a blast that rang off the crossbar.
- Each side had some chances, but neither asked a major question of either keeper as the match entered the final five minutes.
- Dickinson had a pair of shots during the 86th as Dwamena had a chance as Booth ventured way outside box to track down a loose ball, but Connor Anderko was able to head it over the net. Westin Fryberger then had two cracks, unfortunately, Booth had the answer.
- F&M would get one last look inside the final minute, fortunately, George made the stop on Green.
