CARLISLE, Pa. - The sixth-ranked Dickinson men's soccer team needed just 17 seconds to score their first of five goals on Saturday night as
Saul Iwowo,
Ethan Jarden,
Timi Omoniwa and
Daniel Spataro all found the back of the net in a 5-0 Centennial Conference victory over the visiting Ursinus College Bears at Miller Memorial Field.
- The home side immediately got onto the board as Ethan Jarden fed a pass to Iwowo inside the 18-yard box which he finished off past Zach Matik for the 1-0 edge just 17 ticks in.
- It would take until the 12th minute for the visitors to record their first chance when Declan Curran sent the ball wide of DC keeper Aidan George.
- Four minutes later the Devils pushed the lead to 2-0 when Omoniwa slipped a shot beyond the reach of Matik off of Jarden's second helper of the match.
- The trio of Iwowo, Omoniwa and Spataro each sent chances wide, before Omoniwa played provider on the Devils third tally of the match this time coming off the boot of Spataro in the 27th.
- Dickinson was not done however, as the Jarden to Iwowo connection struck again with 34:16 gone to make it 4-0 at the halftime break.
- Over the opening 15 minutes there would be just two shots as Jarden and Mason Lorah were not able to test either keeper.
- The Devils extended the margin to 5-0 during the 61st minute when Luke Finkielstein played a ball down the left-wing to Iwowo who sent the ball towards the net and just before it appeared to be destined to cross the goal-line, Jarden stretched his foot out to steer it into the net.
- The group of Vincenzo Randazzo, Omoniwa and Spataro continued to fire away at Matik as he was tasked with making two more stops as the match entered the final 20 minutes.
- Parker Kiey tallied the final chance for DC, while neither Jason Lotkowski and Aidan McBrearty could test George as the match came to an end.
