CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson football team entered their first-ever appearance in the Centennial-MAC Bowl Series hoping to end their season above the .500 mark for the second straight campaign as they visited FDU-Florham. Unfortunately, for the Red and White they were outscored a combined 35-0 between the second and fourth quarters en route to dropping a 49-14 decision at Robert T. Shields Field.
- Both sides were unable to get things moving offensively early as neither crossed the midfield stripe through the opening seven minutes.
- With 7:37 left DC began on their own 37 yardline. A rush by Diante Ball for 17 and 20-yard connection between Ben Klassen and Kellen Boyer had the Devils on the FDU26. That was when Head Coach Brad Fordyce dipped into the bag of tricks as Klassen tossed to Rocco DiRico who then showed off his quarterback skills with a 26-yard strike to Klassen for the touchdown (Kieran O'Neill kick).
- On the ensuing drive for the FDU-Florham Devils quarterback Ryon Thomas used a solid combination of passing and QB runs to get out to the DC46. He then hit Brendan Godfrey for 26 to the DC20, before three consecutive Kwanir Edwards runs put the hosts in the endzone knotting things at 7-7 (Chris Maida kick).Â
- After DC stalled out on their first possession of the frame, FDU started just short of midfield on the 42. Thomas found the trio of Anthony Bilotta, Aidan Clowry and Adrian Reese to advance up to the DC11. That set the stage for Edwards to romp home from 11 out to make it 14-7 (Maida kick).
- Dickinson was unable to get much traction offensively as they were kept on their own side of the 50 the entire frame, which allowed for FDU to go on a seven-play, 55-yard drive in just over a minute late in the period ending on an 18-yard TD pass to Dilotta pushing the margin to 21-7.
- The Devils tried to respond immediately as Andrew Reale carried for 38 up to the FDU37, before a roughing the passer penalty moved the rock 15 yards (FDU22). Klassen tried to hit Keesean Campbell on the final play, but the attempt fell short to end the half.
- After Dickinson's opening possession came up empty, the home side would extend the gap to 28-7 with their first chance as Thomas took it home on his own from 14 yards away to cap a 12-play, 80-yard march that took up 6:39 off the clock.
- With 1:09 remaining the Red and White setup on the FDU31 following a 20-yard punt for Tristan Newhouse. The first three plays for DC came up empty, but on fourth down Klassen connected with Boyer for a 21-yard touchdown on the final play of the frame to cut it down to 28-14 with a period to go (O'Neill kick).
- Thomas found Clowry for 33 yards up to the 50 two plays in. That was when Edwards took a handoff and carried the ball to paydirt for a 35-14 advantage (Maida kick).
- Dickinson would go four-and-out on their ensuing possession giving the ball back to the hosts on the DC32. Six consecutive rushes between Edwards and Thomas ended with Edwards taking it in from 13 yards away bumping it to 42-14 (Maida kick).
- FDU wrapped up the game and the scoring with less than a minute left with Edwards running in from three out to cap off a nine-play over five minute march to post the 49-14 final (Maida kick).
- Passing - Thomas 18-25, 216yds, 1td, 1int
- Rushing - Edwards (159yds, 5td), Thomas (90yds, 1td)
- Receiving - Clowry (55yds), Bilotta (50yds, 1td)
- Tackles - Puntolillo and Saccal (5), Harold and Smith (4)
- Dickinson will end the season at 5-6 and will set their sights on the 2025 campaign to begin in the Fall.
