LANCASTER, Pa. - Following an impressive season opener on Friday, Dickinson football junior running back
Dane Sorensen has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week the league office announced on Sunday morning.
The native of Bridgewater, New Jersey, racked up 148 yards and two touchdowns on the ground on 21 carries to aid in Dickinson's 27-14 upset win over 25th-ranked Randolph-Macon on Friday night. He also added two catches totaling 14 yards. Sorensen recorded a one-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to cap a 13-play, 74-yard drive, before breaking numerous tackles during a 75-yard touchdown scamper in the third quarter, which gave Dickinson a 20-7 lead early in the second half. Sorensen's 75-yard run was the longest in the Centennial Conference since October 19, 2024.Â
Sorensen and the rest of the Red Devils return to action on Saturday afternoon at 1pm when they take on Division I Davidson College in North Carolina.
