SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Dickinson women's track & field team earned multiple Top-5 and Top-10 finishes in their final tune-up for the Centennial Conference Championships as they took part in the Paul Kaiser Invite at Shippensburg University on Saturday.
Sprints
Two Devils took part in the 100m with
Eliza Gichner claiming 37th with a 13.72, while
Catarina Acosta landed in 52nd (14.61).
The duo of
Morgan Mooradian and Gichner ran right with each other during the 200m as they finished in 43rd (28.71) and 44th (28.73) respectively. Acosta grabbed 57th with a 31.16.
Mooradian was the lone member of the Red and White in the 400m stopping the clock at 1:05.79 for 27th.
Distance
Charlotte Kratovil-Lavelle rounded out the Top-10 for the 800m with a time of 2:25.13.
She then secured third place in the 1500m by hitting the line in 4:51.34, while
Leah Bell seized 57th at 5:56.82.
Field
Three members of the Red and White headed out to the shot put fan to do battle with
Abby Everett earning a fifth-place result with a toss of 11.82m, followed by
Claire Shearer (11th – 10.61m) and
Jenna Deep (18th – 9.78m). Deep then went to work in the discus claiming 30th after a throw of 28.28m. It was Deep who was the best of the trio for the hammer grabbing eighth at 41.29m, while Everett finished 11th (39.08m) and Shearer landed in 23rd (31.82m). Deep also competed in the javelin nabbing 25th (22.96m).
Sylvie McMaken-Marsh took home 16th during the pole vault by clearing 2.55m.
In the jump pit,
Sara Penuela was the highest finishing Division III athlete for the long jump dropping in at 5.74m for fourth, while
Annie Leder claimed 11th at 5.22m. Leder was also involved in the triple jump completing the Top-10 for the event with a leap of 10.11m.
On the Docket
The Red and White return to action next weekend at the Centennial Conference Championships hosted by Muhlenberg College in Allentown.
