GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Dickinson volleyball team closed out their time at the Battlefield Classic with a pair of 3-0 defeats to University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Eastern University on Saturday afternoon inside of Bream Gymnasium on the campus of Gettysburg College.
Match One - Blugolds 3, DEVILS 0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-15)
- The Blugolds were on the attack early to start the frame as they jumped out to an 11-4 advantage.
- Once again Dickinson tried to fight back as four kills from Thomas helped close the gap to 16-14.
- However, kills by Bailey Leeke and Hanne Johnson capped a 9-2 spurt for the 25-16 win.
- UWEC came out strong again jumping out to a 12-6 edge.
- An ace for Avery Butcher and kills for Kate Passey, Kim and Thomas trimmed the gap to 18-14.
- Unfortunately, back-to-back aces by Kaitlyn Erickson finished off a 7-1 run to wrap up the match at 25-15.

Match Two - Eagles 3, DEVILS 0 (25-20, 25-12, 25-22)
- Dickinson held a slim 8-7 lead early thanks to scores by Willow Palmer, Currie and Kim.
- Following Eastern grabbing a 9-8 edge, Cassidy Davis and Barowski pushed the margin to 12-10.
- The Eagles then used a 12-5 stretch to jump ahead 22-17, before Barowski, Davis and Thomas cut it to 23-20.
- A combination block and kill for Hannah Pringle gave EU the set (25-20).
- Kills for Currie, Kim, Thomas and Whittaker were the only offense for DC early as they fell behind 18-7.
- The duo of Barowski and Kim continued to battle leaving the score at 22-11.
- However, three of the next four went to the Eagles for the 25-12 win.
- Eastern was the first to 10 going ahead 10-7, despite points from Grace Coccagna, Barowski and Currie.
- Lora Flynn, Barowski, Currie and Thomas worked to get the Devils back to even at 14-14.
- The two sides then traded 6-1 runs with Currie, Flynn, Kim and Whittaker picking up the points for the Red and White to make it 21-21.
- Unfortunately, though for Dickinson the Eagles soared to victory by taking four of the final five points (25-22).
