CARLISLE, Pa. – The Dickinson women's squash closed out a busy four-day run with a 7-2 loss to 15th-ranked Amherst College inside the Kline Squash Center. Monday saw the Red Devils play their final home game until February 22nd when they host the Centennial Conference Championship.
Inside the Match
The Red Devils once again took out the top two flights but struggled to find wins lower down the ladder. Sophomore Anne Leakey is now an impressive 13-1 overall on the season after winning in the top flight in straight games, including a strong showing in the second game. Fellow sophomore Katie Herring was the second and final Red Devil win in the second flight, as she bounced back after losing the first game, winning the next three to win the match in four games. This victory is particularly impressive as Herring lost to Cline this time last year, which shows Herring's continued improvement. Anna O'Connor came extremely close in the fourth flight, but didn't quite have enough, losing in a long five setter. The Red Devils lost the remaining matches in three games.
