LANCASTER, Pa. - The Dickinson College men's track and field team continued their indoor slate on Saturday afternoon taking part in the Coach I Open hosted by fellow Centennial Conference institution Franklin & Marshall College.
Sprints
The 60m saw Dickinson claim victory as
Franklyn Akabi-During posted a time of 6.90.
William O'Connor was just outside the Top-20 in 22nd with a 7.35, while
Matthew Greenley,
Tim Gross and
Josh Penny nabbed 61st (7.71), 75th (8.08) and 79th (8.40). Penny was the only one to return to the track for hurdles at the same distance earning a 26th-place result by hitting the line in 12.28.
O'Connor would be the highest finishing Devil for the 200m claiming ninth at 23.79. He was followed by
Ian Gormley in 12th with a 23.92 and Greenley in 44th (25.52).
A trio of Devils grabbed Top-10 finishes for the 400m with
Trevor Richwine (2nd - 50.91) and
Darian Crim (5th - 51.97) landing inside the Top-5, while
James Masterson claimed ninth at 52.86.
Nathan Caldwell (31st - 55.40) and Gross (46th - 59.13) also competed in the event.
Distance
Trevor Richwine paced a large group of Dickinson athletes involved in the 800m as he won the event with a 1:55.00, followed by
Nolan Meincke in fifth at 1:59.91.
Alex Hansen and
Benjamin Moseman earned Top-20 places finishing in 16th (2:04.25) and 20th (2:05.24) respectively. The duo of
Matthew Gareau (2:07.12) and
Avi Ghorai (2:07.13) ran together sliding into slots 32 and 33.
Amos Liles (2:10.59),
Jake Cruikshank (2:11.16),
Tyler Erdmann (2:12.81),
Luke Knestout (2:13.10),
Evan Feldman (2:14.65), Ben Dench (2:15.56),
Matthew Colden (2:16.85) and
Max Collins (2:18.14) were all involved in the race as well.
Once again a distance event saw a massive contingent of Red and White go to the track as Meincke (5th - 4:29.11) and
Atticus Fair (10th - 4:34.78) earned Top-10 places. The duo of Moseman and Hansen locked up Top-20 slots nabbing 12th (4:35.75) and 18th (4:39.40), while Richwine (21st - 4:40.71), Knestout (24th - 4:45.34), Eddie Liszka (26th - 4:45.57) and
Travis Knaggs (30th - 4:49.32) all fell within the Top-30. Cruikshank (4:55.40), Colden (5:02.66), Collins (5:07.51), Erdmann (5:08.00) and
Jack Solovey (5:17.78) all competed as well.
The trio of
Brock Overlander (15:15.84), Caldwell (15:23.90) and
Alexander Kane (15:25.20) placed one through three in the 5000m. They were joined in the Top-10 by the group of
Matthew Dietrick (6th - 16:11.43),
Mason Macek (7th - 16:11.78), Ghorai (8th - 16:13.64) and
William Kane (10th - 16:40.77). Joel Yetzbacher rounded out the competing Devils with a time of 18:20.57 which was good for 25th.
Relays
The Red and White would submit four teams for the 4x400m with the unit of Gormley, Liles, Meincke and Richwine clocking in at 3:28.21 to claim the victory. The next crew of Crim, Feldman, Gareau and Masterson hit the stripe in 3:40.46 for sixth, while Fair, A. Kane, Liszka and Overlander grabbed 13th (3:51.26). Cruikshank, Erdmann, Gross and Knaggs finished off the groups at 3:59.69 to take home 18th.
Field
Matthew Greenley was the lone member of the Red and White to compete in the pole vault taking 21st after clearing 2.89m.
Next on the Track
The Red Devils return to action next Saturday when they head to Reading, Pennsylvania to compete in the Alvernia University Plex Open starting at 9am.
