Franklyn Akabi-During crosses the finish line at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships

Richwine and Akabi-During Qualify for Finals at NCAA Championship

LA CROSSE, Wis. - Dickinson men's track and field runners Franklyn Akabi-During and Trevor Richwine started the 2026 DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday and Friday. Richwine won his heat of the 800m Prelims to qualify for finals tomorrow, and Akabi-During qualified for the 100m Finals and earned All-American status in the 200m. 

  • Starting on Thursday in the 200m prelims, sophomore Akabi-During placed 11th overall with a time of 21.45. Despite not qualifying for finals, he earned All-American accolades. 
  • Continuing in the 100m finals on Friday, Akabi-During finished second in his heat and sixth overall with a time of 10.44 to qualify for finals tomorrow. 
  • Senior Richwine won his heat of the 800m with a time of 1:50.20. The time qualifies him for finals tomorrow, tentatively scheduled for 3 p.m. EST.
