NEW ORLEANS - After another strong outdoor season the Dickinson men's track and field team had ten individuals earn spots on the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region Team the organization announced on Tuesday.
The top-8 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-8 relay teams.
Individuals
Sophomore,
Franklyn Akabi-During grabbed a spot in both the 100m and 200m. In the 100m, he ranked second following a 10.41 at the Coach P Invite (4/17), while sitting third for the 200m with a 21.01 during last Monday's final qualifier at Widener University.
Classmate,
Owen Buroker earned the final All-Region slot for the 800m by hitting the line in 1:52.57 at the Widener Final Qualifier on May 10th.
Junior,
Nathan Caldwell locked up his place after ranking fifth in the 3000m steeplechase thanks to a time of 9:27.78 while competing at the Bison Outdoor Classic.
Fellow sophomore
Darian Crim landed as the second best in the 400m thanks to a 47.69 during the York College Twilight Meet (4/1).
Another sophomore,
Luke Knestout ranked seventh for the 10,000m following a 31:20.42 at the Centennial Conference Championships (5/1).Â
Two-time defending 800m national champion, senior
Trevor Richwine was once again the best in the region for the 800m setting the fastest time in Division III history of 1:47.21 participating at the Widener Final Qualifier.Â
First-year,
Owen Seveland used a time of 54.03 in the 400m hurdles at the Bison Outdoor Classic to sit in fifth.
Oliver Stroka completed the large sophomore contingent for the Red and White ranking tops in the region for the hammer throw with a mark of 55.22m during the Centennial Conference Championships.
Relays
The 4x100m team of
Jason Hollinger, Akabi-During, Crim and Seveland grabbed the final place with their time of 41.84 at the Centennial Conference Championships.
The 4x400m unit with
Matthew Gareau, Akabi-During, Crim and Richwine were the best in the region after posting a 3:14.38 during the Bison Outdoor Classic.
