No. 9 Devils Blank Garnet in CC Tilt

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The ninth-ranked Dickinson men's soccer team got all they could handle from the host Swarthmore College on Saturday night at Clothier Field. Fortunately, for the Red and White they got second half tallies from Darian Crim, Nicholas Dwamena and Ethan Jarden to post a 3-0 Centennial Conference win over the Garnet.

First Half
  • Both keepers were tested within the first two minutes as Nick Potter shut down Joseph Eyiolowope, while Timi Omoniwa was denied by Colin Crowe.
  • The offenses continued to keep firing away as they traded the ensuing four shots over the next ten plus minutes with Luke Finkielstein and Omoniwa not able to get their attempts to Crowe.
  • Following a stop from Potter on Len Yamabe, Crowe stopped the duo of Saul Iwowo and Dwamena to keep it 0-0 into the 25th minute.
  • The goalkeepers continued to be busy with Crowe beating aside chances for both Charlie Roy and Finkielstein, while at the other end of the pitch Potter had the answer for Eyiolowope to end the half.
Second Half
  • Swarthmore came out of the break on the attack with opportunities for Jackson Haynes, Toshiro Kenney and Adrien Marcelli not able to bother Potter.
  • Then, in the 52nd Dickinson took a 1-0 lead when Dwamena launched a ball down the left sideline over the head the of the Garnet defense and ran onto his own ball entering the box and firing a shot past Crowe.
  • The hosts went looking for an equalizer and almost had it off the ensuing kickoff, but the chance from Kenney pounded the crossbar.
  • After a save from Potter on Abdoul Diallo in the 57th, Rowan Jensen played a pass to Omoniwa who touched it across the box to Jarden for the finish making it 2-0.
  • The sides shared the ensuing six shots, but none of them were able to beat the keepers as the match entered the final 15 minutes.
  • That would be when Dickinson extended their advantage to 3-0 with Omoniwa connecting a pass to Roan Harrington who linked up with Crim who put the ball in the net with 76:11 gone.
  • Potter would preserve his cleansheet with stops in the 82nd and 85th.
