Devils Erupt in Second Half to Fly Past Owls

CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's soccer team turned around a 0-0 halftime scoreline by scoring four times in the second half thanks to markers from Lila Brown, Lauren Flowers, Joelle Ma and Maddie Kraft-Williams en route to claiming a 4-0 Centennial Conference win over Bryn Mawr College at Miller Memorial Field on Saturday afternoon. The Red and White earned the victory by being on the attack early and often as they held a substantial 38-1 advantage in shots, including 18-1 on target.

First Half
  • Dickinson called upon Bryn Mawr keeper Lily Blackman just 85-seconds in as she denied Isabelle Bariso.
  • Over the next eight minutes the Devils earned two corner kicks and got shots from Anna Bitsko, Ava Prisco, Brown and Ma, but were unable to test Blackman as the match entered the 15th minute.
  • The ensuing four DC chances Bridget Merkel (2), Bariso and Prisco were all shutdown by Blackman.
  • Blackman continued her standout performance by making saves against Kaitlyn Arnold and Maddie St. Amand (2), while backup keeper Maeve Slemko came on for the final three minutes recording stops on Catherine Fleck and Ellie Nordwind to end the period.
Second Half
  • Blackman returned to goal starting the half and was immediately tested by Norah Heacock, Katie Vassilakos, Bariso, Fleck and Prisco within the opening 15 minutes.
  • The Owls lone shot of the match came with 7:36 off the clock as Pico Gray had the answer for Beatriz da Silva.
  • Dickinson finally dented the scoreboard at the 60:41 mark when a foul in the box by Alexandra Morales led to a penalty kick for the Devils. Ma stepped up to the spot and sent the shot past Blackman for the lead.
  • The next ten-plus minutes saw chances for Georgia Mantione, Ma and Prisco go awry, before Prisco setup Kraft-Williams for her first goal in a DC kit (2-0).
  • In the final nine minutes the Red and White added two more courtesy of Brown and Flowers to set the 4-0 final.
